Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.

A guy I work with got a tiger 660 last year new, he was not happy yesterday as he explained that he had wheeled it out of his shed and left the disc lock on, one broken mudguard later...
Try not to do the same QM, and most of all enjoy of course.

I'll try to remember that SB! At the moment I'm going through Triumph's infuriating running procedure. First 100 miles, don't exceed 44 mph in top, next 400 miles 65 is the limit. If you exceed the limit the rev counter flasses to warn you that you are a naughty boy. Yamaha just recommended giving the motor an easy time to start with as I recollect.

Well i reckon Yamaha are quite sensible but i think the rev counter flashing would put you off for sure, Enfield recommend a similar regime, bit dangerous in my eyes, enjoy the new bike, i loike the look of em..

They say the best investment you can make in a bike is suspension.
On the Trumpet the rear no name shocks must be bargain basement, too much spring and under damped makes it crash over every bump. Up front a short linear spring and too soft makes it dive and wallow. Had a long chat with a chap at Norman Hyde's. he supplied full length progressive springs and preload spacers plus a pair of chromed Ikon adjustable rear shocks made to order. For a sizeable sum. 15W oil was recommended. Well, the difference is night and day. No more diving and bottoming on heavy braking or spine crushing bumps up through your spine. It's become a very nice bike to ride.distance on.
