I thought the same too, but the material is pretty high tech, there's constant gentle tension over a wide range of expansion. They designed them for activity lifestyles, when....ermmm...support is needed but without any extra obvious equipment.
And they do girls Bawbags too....which is, a bit funny ? http://www.jackson-s...bags/b-365.aspx

Correct harnessing of the dangly bit's is a subject we find lacking in the motorcycling press, and often it seems an awkward and taboo subject among fellowbikers as well, I can't highlight the importance of correct undergarments supporting the "Crown Jewels" especially during hot weather, as recently experienced by myself and members of the Honda Blackbird forum during a highland trip in mid July!........the effects of heat can have shocking consequences on the elasticity of the aforementioned parts!

Ran the engine for 10 mins, letting the Reddex do its job. There was a noise of something going around coming from the front somewhere. Will put it down to the cold and length of time since it ran

Rode into Edinburgh with my flashing handguards on..... about a mile of which was behind a traffic cop, who moved over eventually to let me filter past.
They seem to make people notice me more. Just hopefully not like moths to a lightbulb !

Technically, the law is pretty clear.
The only flashing lights should be amber (unless on an emergency vehicle)
The only colour of light to be shown to the front with the exception of amber indicators is white , that's a Europe wide law.
Looking at what exists already - there are SMIDSY 'pod mods' which flicker at about 17Hz. You don't really appreciate they're flickering when you look directly at them but they grab your attention when your peripheral vision sees the flashing..
There are also trucks, at the front of which are different arrays of blue, red, green led's in all sorts of configurations, Many cars have these now, as add on 'dickhead lights'
(EDIT - The SMIDSY pod mods actually don't modulate between 100% brightness and off, they modulate between 100% and i think 30%, or maybe 50% brightness.....so perhaps they get around a definition of flashing as being 'on and off' in that way ?)
With regards to the law itself, I'm all in favour of keeping to the 'spirit of the law' more than the literal interpretation itself. I believe the law is pretty good and serves us well with regards to lighting, because otherwise some people would have all colour of large bright flashing lights, just because they can.....however there is a grey area where there is a justification to use something which technically falls foul of the law, but which actually could have safety implications.
If I get pulled over because of them then I will set them to a program where they are steadily on and make my apologies, and if that isn't good enough, and a traffic cop thinks his bosses will be please because he discovered a crime of using led's incorrectly I'll go to court I guess ! But I think most people can apply common sense and see these as being something made and used with the best of intentions.
These days, what colour qualifies as white ? Is that daylight white of 5000k or is it the blue white of 8000K HID's ? or the golden white of 3000K HID's ?
yep.
screwed.

No sweat - Lucky for me that force policy as well as the law states that the reporting officers must speak to me at the time and make contemporaneous notes after giving me a caution, noting my response for use in court
SMIDSY have a section on their page covering the use of their manufacturing facility to develop your own product on, and I sent them details last week. Initially they said they couldn't be interested because of the use of flashing colours which are illegal, but now they've reviewed the video the response is complimentary. I probably need to ditch the idea of having colours except from white and amber, and make the installation easier, if I wanted to put it into production. It's mad busy at work for the next few months for me so I've got plenty of time to think about it !

Well, to change the subject slightly, what I did to my bike today, was, Got an MOT, only needing rear tyre, which I'd put on already!!
Now I know there's no mention of under crackers, (yet) and that it's relatively uninteresting and uninspiring to the vast majority, but to me it's the dogs danglies coz it's one step nearer France in April!! In fact I'm cocker fookin hoop!!
