No you need a shot gun licence, and unfortunately they don't fit a cartridge. Though looking at the design you could easily fabricate something that does. I've 'heard' of people doing so and have had the devise pointing down into a jam jar full of ball bearings. It has seemed to work for them on at least one occasion judging by the blood left on the side of their garage. But of course thats only hear say, of course.

Progress Update 
Rang the ins co. and there's a delay. I had to send them the mileage figure and they then send the mileage figure to Copart. Copart then use the mileage figure in calculating the value. Copart then contact Ins. with a value and the haggling begins.
So
5th Oct - sent mileage fig by special next day delivery along with loadsa other stuff.
9th Oct - ins. sent copart the mileage.
14th Oct - ins. waiting for value from Copart.
Of course this is all done by good old Royal Mail and the ins. co only work 5 days a week tops !
Prolly gonna be another 2 weeks or more before I get my final settlement and I'm not getting any younger

ffs just catching up on the goss and reading this despite Dappers telling me yer boike was taken again. I loved that MKI man. Man hugs.
spyball alarm/immob, bluespot brake calipers and Stainless hoses, Fournales air adjustable shock with Remote Resevoir, forks raised 10mm thru yokes, racetech linear fork springs in 15 wt oil, Kappa wingrack/luggage, heated grips, Kedo handguards, dual heat controller to power heated jacket liner and or pants!!, Stebel 136DB horn, K&N air filter, colour matched Baglux tank cover (magnetic tank bag modified to fit cover), osram +50% headloight bulbs, headlight protector,"NitramSpecial" parking loight, tail light indicators all running on LED's & incorporate "Lite Buddies", MK7 Scottoiler fitted, taller screen, 2-2 stainless steel CCC's, Devil stainless down pipes. MKI Renntec engine crash bars & sump guard.
engine changed july 2007 on a dyno run it made 79.1BHP / Torque 59.9Had a brief flirtation with a 1999 MKIIa but it blew an exaust valve on the M5 so was sold on to be repaired.
