Yeah, I think she likes Enslaved, the kings of Viking metal! Helheim, hailing from Bergen as well, is also a great viking metal band. And Blood Red Throne is a skullcrushing Norwegian death metal band.
And then you have all these black metal bands up here like Darkthrone, Gorgoroth, Dimmu Borgir, Satyricon, Gjenferdsel, Urgehal, Keep Of Kalessin, to meantion just a few...

I'm more into all kinds of extreme metal than my daughter. And I like the sound of "heavy metal thunder"! Wasn't that the sound of a twin sylindered motorcycle? Oh yes, it was, according to the band Steppenwolf in the late sixties.

With Laser, more heavy metal thunder from my dear TDM wub.gif

If metal is your thing, then check out Beat The Blizzard, the web site I started back in 2000...

Hi AJ,

Those dyno charts look impressive, especially torque on the Akrapovic one.. But are they from those manufacturers? They seem a bit too good to me. Marketing departments make all kinds of claims which have nothing to do with actual performance increases.

There's a huge gap between 3k and 4k rpm on the Akra chart, it could be annoying to ride around town.

AJ, do you know what air filter was used for that Akra run? I guess not the standard filter but K&N?

Hi Stink-Foot,

yeah, both graphs are from the manufacturers.
The effect curves seems pretty equal (same result) for both makes - Laser and Akra - even though the Akra system is open, i.e. no db killer, no road legal insert...

I cannot remember taking notice of anything about air filters or other mods, but you can read it all here...

For further info, the Akra cans are very roughly (by eye) 2cm longer than the stock Yamaha ones, and the link pipes (equally roughly) are 5-7 cm longer, so the whole assembly from the joint to the end is 7-10 cm longer than OEM.

Enjoy the battle! smile.gif

Not measured mine for any bragging rights yet! I can say that the Akra's are fine round town and don't necessarily reflect the the graph!?

Curious that there's a difference of 6 BHP between the 2 stock bikes blink.gif
Just goes to show what shoite can be talked about dynos - although they are good (and only good for) for a comparison as in the first set.
