Oh dear - was I the one responsible for all this?

I haven't been on the forum for ages and thought I'd let the old crowd know what I was up to these days.

Still, it's good to see that I can still create a stir on this forum after all this time ;)

However, there's not enough BM and TDM pics on this thread (apologies for the quality - my scanner has just about packed it in)

Hell, I just like motorcycles, and talking about them with others who do too.  That fact that riding a BMW (as well as a TDM) drives people crazy is funny.  Everyone on here busts GG's balls about it routinely (and vice versa) -- all good fun.  If anyone doesn't like reading about it, why do they?

LOL   Nah, that's my old K-series that was replaced by my svelte Mk II.

The last time the Police caught me I was only doing 108km/h in a 100 zone. Stupid Victorian Police. The ones here in New South wouldn't have even blinked at such a minor indescretion. I wrote a letter and they (eventually) let me off.

Oh - and I like the look of that roadster - wonder what it'd be like on fire trails & deep river crossings?

I'd say that's a pretty nice bike for the money.  My cousin's 2003 1150 ran like a dream and was reliable.

I've made some parts for Matts R1200 GS :hide:  It's a fellow biker in trouble, as far as I'm concerned, what bike he rides don't matter.

The Bavarian Motor Works don't seem to have the Japanese habit of using fine pitch threads on big bolts, which makes it difficult for us Jap bike owners.

Just the standard coarse pitches, much easier to get bolts for them. Like M12 X 1.75 = easy to get, a Jap size would be M12 x 1.25 = hard to get, so BMW have seen sense there.

BMW also provide diagrams with dimensions marked, so you can copy the parts easier, which is another plus  :good:

2002 900 silver, oil pressure switch with brass 90 degree conversion, RG fork protectors. Wilburs custom made rear Shock with remote hydraulic preload and RG shocktube, Wilburs front springs. Scotoiler with a custom made swing arm delivery unit. Silicone radiator hoses.BMW 1150 handguards with Touratech extensions, Carbon Fibre yoke cover and fender extenda, MRA flip screen, Yamaha Engine bars, SW Motech Centre Stand, Kappa wingrack three box Luggage with E21's as option from the K960 boxes, Zumo 660 satnav on Touratech mount, Led Voltage monitor, Baglux tank cover, Clear LED Rear light, Aux LED brake light, Stainless rear axle nut, stainless chain adjusters, stainless wheel spacers front and rear, Probolt Polished Stainless Flanged Hex engine screws, Polished stainless fairing screws, stainless disc bolts. Titanium brake pins front, Probolt Titanium Flanged Hex Front Caliper Bolts & Rear caliper slide pins.<p>Top Sellerie double gel pad seat. Carbon Fibre inner dash and side infill panels. Anodised black alloy swingarm pivot bolt covers and footpegs, Nano II Gear indicator.

I'd say the bloke that owns that has got a proper sense of humour

That bike is just up the road from me & I'm Sooooo tempted to buy it just to bring along to the next few Carpe G2G's  - be worth the money just for the wind up value   :P

It's cracking value for money - And been looked after by my local dealer, who I trust implicitly

Only thing stopping me is lack of space at the moment due to my building project  ;)  - And, I suspect it will be nearer to £5K when the auction ends !

Just checked this out out on UKGSer as well - they reckon the owner of this is well into his tractors, & has recently sold his other 1150 GS which was painted in Massey Ferguson colours.

They reckon when he's sold them both, it will make him an EXTRACTOR FAN !  :rotflmmfao:

He does live in deepest Lincolnshire Chris - over there in Louth, they rate their tractors above their cars & bikes !

Same in Derbyshire - our fleet manager has over a dozen vintage tractors & will travel to the ends of the country to buy a threshing machine or harrow

He thinks I'm nuts travelling thousands of miles a year on my bikes at my own expense when I could be using my car at the company's !

Each to his own  ;)

Anyway,

Nice to see the CMC influence turning a topic originally posted to try to ban discussions on BMW's full circle into a topic discussing all sorts of BMW bikes

Bet you'd be surprised - I thought a car licence was sufficient to drive a tractor ? I have the category on mine anyway.

It's a category you hold on a standard car licence, but you can do a test at 16 to hold only a tractor licence.
