Blow up mattress is so much nicer than a thin mat, although they take up a bit of room you only have to schlep it there and back...

Ok chaps, Never been camping on a bike, so apart from the tent and kipbag, what should I bring with me?  :unsure2:  :dunno:

some sort of luggage system might be good, soft bags or hard boxes and maybe a stove with a kettle.

Soft bags will be cheaper than hard cases something like this sort o thing.

http://www.getgeared...37&category=298

I like a bit of comfort in me camping these days so I take a chair as well. All depends how much gear you need/have to take.

Personally, I can't live without my emergency brew kit, especially as tea quality is variable even in UK. Last time I was in France I nearly expired from lack of decent cuppa.

I can recommend these soft panniers. Had mine 7 years and they're great. I've got the tail pack and tank bag that goes with them too. Great kit and unbeatable value. I always use insulation tape to keep the rain covers on during long trips. I've ridden for hours in torrential rain and nothing got soggy. Just remember to bring a roll of tape with you for the return journey.

http://www.ebay.co.u...ywAAOxyHIlTZ0ZC

Like Lee, I always take a chair. I can't sit on the deck anymore; if I get down I can't get up again!

These dry bags are good value and fit nicely across the panniers and keep your kit bone dry.

Panniers are a god send if your on a big trip, i use mine just because i have them, but if it's only for the weekend slap it all in a dry bag on the back seat and a change of clothes in a tank bag, Studley will be making the tea and coffee  ;)

If you're ever there again and run out, as I have done many times, the Liptons Yellow Label teabags are not bad at all, but you have to use 2 bags per cup.

Can't wait !

Last year was so good and this year, I've even invested in a nice sturdy top box to bring the coveted Stormy TDM trophy back to its rightful comrades.

It's gong to be a blast and knowing how much Big Dave puts into this, I'm already counting the pints I owe him

Looking forward to seeing you all there !

Been in touch with Dom today, below is his response

Hi dave looking forward to see everyone again fantastic, we will have a full licensed bar with the same ales & ciders as last time + some different ones 😏as well the food will be the same but we will have more vegetarian dishes as well.
If you can collect the money on the day it would be great of you.

Therefore, I will be creating an excel register and will take responsibility for signing folk in and collecting the outstanding monies on the Friday afternoon.

See you all there.

Top man Dave and thanks again for sorting this.

Didn't try the cider last time but recall the beer was pretty darn good.

Looking forward to it.

Cheers
