I'm pleased you and Danny got a good deal TD but I'm pissed-off that I got charged £67 one way!

Always seems to be a ripoff like that, I remember my sister flying to one way to Paris some years ago and it was actually cheaper to get a return ticket and not use the return than to get a single!
Just booked mine as well. Don't forget it says you need to present the card you bought the ticket with at checkin.
Anyone taken bike on Eurotunnel before? Do they strap them down like on the ferries, do you need your own straps, or are they smooth enough they don't bother?

I've only used eurotunnel with a metal box but have seen bikes on there and don't remember them being strapped down coz you can stay with them. However, if they do strap them down they will surely provide the straps just like the ferries

As I understand it Danny's staying at mine on Thursday night and we're leaving here at 7:00am, Steve/Tony are you both planning to meet at mine or meet on route?
Tony, Danny and myself should all be carrying radios and have mobiles linked up handsfree. which should make life easier if we get seperated for any reason.
Don't actualy know the full address of the hut, though it's about 5 mins walk from the hotel at the top of this translated post. Pict had some more info on the hut that he posted in this thread (think he's a member of the German forum) so I've PM'd him to see if the has the address, if not I'll e-mail the German guys who've been very helpfull so far. The schedule says they'll all be at the hotel on the Friday evening so worset case we show up there and ask. The BBQ on the Saturday night is at our hut so most people should know where it is. Is our plan just to stick to the fastest roads and stop at service stations or do we want to plan detours in to local towns for fuel/food stops? Autoroute reckons 417 miles from my house.
Sunday we've pretty much got to ourselves as according the schedule the Germans will all be heading home (thier bank holiday is the Friday rather than the Monday). With luck we can trade a few beers for some good local routes (I need to get a map of the area unless someone else has one already, preferably in lat/long rather than grid) for the sunday, and we'll have a good idea of how long the trip back to Dover takes from the way out.

In response to your PM,
1) The hut details were in posts 38-40 of this thread.
2) The "Hut" thread on Deutsche-TDM Forum is at http://www.tdm-forum...ad.php?id=15844
BTW It seems you have to bring your own bedlinen - did you know?

First post says you need to check in at the hotel and get keys and directions to the hut from there so that looks like the problem solved.
I was planning on taking my sleeping bag assuming it's like the bunkhouses I've used in the this country, presume the others have made the same assumption?

??? - this is page 8, post # 157. Go back to last few items on page 2? That's the only earlier stuff I had ado with.
Correct re. sleeping bag (liner only?) AFAIK.

My own best understanding of Jochen's main points is:
- Key obtainable on the day of arrival at the hotel reception along with directions. Last out each day returns key to reception.
- Must bring your own bed linen and towels.
- Please don't bring your own drinks. Beer, water, cola, etc., are available from the hut. Given the very low price per night, it would be nice if this service is used and there are few private empties in the trash.
- Fitted kitchen including a refrigerator and coffee are available.
- Smoking in the bedrooms leads to eviction.
- The hut and its facilities should remain clean and reasonably tidy.
- Farewell drinks etc. on Sunday morning before departure.
