so I had to get new tyre valves fitted and while removing the wheels I noticed that the fork seals were leaking quite badly so the forks were removed too to get it all fixed together, while the bike stood in an unrideable condition I decided to try and mix a colour closer to the frame colour for my 'frame covers', I mixed up a colour from old colours I had to what I thought was an ok match and painted them, in the shed the colour looked a bit lighter than the frame under led light conditions but I thought it looked ok, better than the silvery colour the professional paint shop person recommended anyway, once my tyre valves and forks were sorted I fitted it all back together and moved the bike out of the shed, the colour on the frame covers now looked a bit darker, but it is something that I can live with though so they are staying as they are, to be honest even a perfect match would look different on account of the frame being textured in finish and the covers being smooth, having made myself happy I decided to take the bike out for a ride as we had recently got back from walking the dogs in sunshine and felt very warm, however as soon as I got on the bike it clouded over, never mind it still felt good, 20 miles later and my legs were cold but I'm tough so I can take it, 10 more miles showed me I'm not tough after all so I went home,
still, I enjoyed even a short ride and the forks didn't leak, one thing I noticed on my ride was the smell of fuel each time I stopped, when I got home I expected to find a fuel leak but there was no sign of that, no fuel smell from the engine, fuel tank or exhaust ends so I don't know where it came from, the bike rode lovely so I'll assume all is ok,
I tried to post a picture showing my frame colour change in the same way I've done before but it just kept saying 'error',
so here is a link to my face book page picture,
