3 weeks to go! Must remember to ring my insurance company and sort out European recovery this week.

As I understand it Danny's staying at mine on Thursday night and we're leaving here at 7:00am, Steve/Tony are you both planning to meet at mine or meet on route?

Tony, Danny and myself should all be carrying radios and have mobiles linked up handsfree. which should make life easier if we get seperated for any reason.

Don't actualy know the full address of the hut, though it's about 5 mins walk from the hotel at the top of this translated post. Pict had some more info on the hut that he posted in this thread (think he's a member of the German forum) so I've PM'd him to see if the has the address, if not I'll e-mail the German guys who've been very helpfull so far. The schedule says they'll all be at the hotel on the Friday evening so worset case we show up there and ask. The BBQ on the Saturday night is at our hut so most people should know where it is. Is our plan just to stick to the fastest roads and stop at service stations or do we want to plan detours in to local towns for fuel/food stops? Autoroute reckons 417 miles from my house.

Sunday we've pretty much got to ourselves as according the schedule the Germans will all be heading home (thier bank holiday is the Friday rather than the Monday). With luck we can trade a few beers for some good local routes (I need to get a map of the area unless someone else has one already, preferably in lat/long rather than grid) for the sunday, and we'll have a good idea of how long the trip back to Dover takes from the way out.

Hi Chris, I'll meet you and Danny at yours at 7.00 am. If we've got 400 mile plus to do then we will need to stick to the fast auto routes with a few short breaks if we are going to arrive at a sensible time in the evening.
Now on 9er number 2 .....

Just about sorted with all me bits and bobs for the trip. Ive got me leather and denim thong packed in case its hot.
Got to fing a new sleeping bag as the Jack Russels managed to shred mine in the 10 minutes I left it down stairs un attended. Its four nights as I understand it so that computes to dry.gif ........................ 1x pair of pants should suffice.
Should be good!!

Moin Jungs,

one week left - we expect four of you on friday at Langenei. If you arrive before 6 p.m., most of us will be on the road.
Just stop at HOTEL SCHWEINSBERG - you can´t miss it, it´s nearby the mainroad - and ask the receptionist for the key of the "SGV Huette". They will show you the way to the hut or take you there.

You will need bedlinen oder sleeping bag and a towel for the hut.

Sunday most of us are gone. For sunday night you just have to decide if you want to stay at the hut oder move to the hotel for 35 Euro p.night/person including breakfast.

Do you want to join the buffet on friday night 6.30 to 8.30 p.m. at the hotel Schweinsberg?

For Saturday you could even join a tour (Ausfahrt). There a still some tours not booked out (ausgebucht) - shown here.

See you

Jochen

We've got a enough between us to find our way there. Need to sort though my stuff and see if there's anything I need to do this weekend besides buy some oil, fit my radio, and charge my camera battery.

Danny, you're way to organised. I have got as far as sorting out my european recovery, and ordered a map of the area that I need to pick up from Waterstones tomorrow, but thats about it. Planning on taking the faring off the bike tomorrow to set up power for the new radio.

I've now got a 3.5km/cm map of the area, not the best resolution for planning rides but looks like some fantastic roads in the area. Also found the hotel on Autoroute which could be usefull as it's further out of town than I originally though. 8.112116, 51.112801 for the techophiles among you.

Tomtom reckons 320 miles and 5 hours from the eurotunnel exit. Train gets in at 11:25 so allowing for stops we should easily make it for the buffet at 6:30, even if we decide to hop off the motorway for the last 50 miles or so.

Just emailed eurotunnel with problem of not being able to book-in with credit card I made booking with coz it was cloned and has now been cancelled. Still awaiting reply. Anyhow, really looking forward to trip and will see you all at Chris's on friday at 7.0 am. drinks.gif
