Two days of fixing, mixed outcomes:

Action - result

--------------------

Renewed speedometer cable - almost steady needle, a slight vibe at certain speeds (success-)

Renewed clutch cable - smoother & easier operation (success+)

Replaced cracked float bowl (Thanks, Studley !), adjusted fuel levels, synchronized - seemed nice after test drive, but upon arrival at today's commute it skipped and stuttered on idle....(failure) :sorry:

Adjusted chain (success)

Washed (success)

:sorry:  :P - can't decide....

Went for a short ride on a curvy road, overpassed two HD, was overpassed by a sportbike but when I saw him coming in the mirror, started to do things with the left hand to make him believe I was not pushing hard...

Readjusted float valves, synchronized carbs (used old jets from carbs to smoothen gauge fluctuations - worked a treat !).

Now running better than in years  :pimp:

I must say, though, that the procedure for measuring fuel level is quite tiresome - esp. when adjustment is a precision guesswork....

Replaced indicator lense that was cracked

Got tax disc in post and it's now fitted to the bike so she's ready for summer
