Hi Folks,

we were so pleased to meet 4 of you guys at our Megatreff this year in Langenei, so we will also give you a warm welcome at the Megatreff in the next year.
The TDMF-Megatreff 2009 will be on 10.-14. June 2009 at the Berlin-Brandenburg area.
For the moment we don't know exactly where we will stay, but we will give you the news as soon as possible.
Maybe some of you need that infos for a very early holiday planning. So the date is fix, the location will be found in the next weeks, but it will be near of Berlin.

Hope to see some of you and have some fine beers with you (btw: also in Berlin there is no need to order the beer in dozens *gg*).

i think Berlin will be too far for an RTT, some of the older members have delicate arses laugh.gif
but we could time it the week after so we stop off on the way back?
how does this sound for a plan pimp.gif

MT09 for those that want it in the Berlin area 10-14June
leave a few days early, say Sunday 7th, and sort a twisty route out there
vacate Berlin with the rest of the Germans on Sunday 14th and head down to a
Dordogne based RTT09 15-19th June
(its approx 1000miles from Berlin to Bergerac, 2 full days is do-able with a 50/50 mix of twistys and motorway)
that also gives those who arent doing MT09 the weekends either end for travelling

If the idea is to hit Berlin on the Wednesday I'd probably look at setting off on the Saturday and taking some time to look at a bit of Germany, and maybe visit Poland as well.

Not 100% sure about the idea of back to back MT and RTT, quite a few people might be able to make a week for each seperatly but not a fortnight for both together. Then again nothing to stop us going to the MT and then taking several days to head home via the Alps... In fact having not done the Alps Pyranees trip I was contemplating this year I wonder if Berlin to Santander would be a nice run home, only 1500 miles...

Tony, aren't you going to be a bit short of leave next year by the time you've picked up the S10 from Israel?

Tony, aren't you going to be a bit short of leave next year by the time you've picked up the S10 from Israel?

it was gonna cost me £500 in carnets & visas jsut to ride thru a few hundred miles of Syria
so S10 aint going to Israel now, wouldnt be so bad if part of a larger trip

besides i get flexible benefits, 20-40days holiday, more hols i take the less pay i get dry.gif
plus i can take time of in lieu instead of overtime if needed

RTT09 is not set yet - unless I'm wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I reckon it's time someone grasped the nettle and got on organising instead of pontificating, Is ther anyone in any of these areas where the RTT09 is proposed who can do this. As usual I won't know until 1 week before ranting.gif if I am free (no John Inman jokes) Given the choice the French option sounds triffick drinks.gif .

ok, guys.
I like your discussion style very much *gg*.

T-Shirts will be coming later, that's sure.
Beers in dozens will be fine, I will notice that as a british spleen and will take 2 of them *gg*. Prost.

So, if you like to combine your RTT with our MT you're welcome. We just have to know that early so we can organize the MT a little bit more international *gg*. But we're german organizers, that would be no problem.
And if you plan the RTT date near of the MT date, I will inform my folks and maybe some of us will make a little visit on your RTT too. Many of us take a week or two for holiday round the MT date.

Give us a little bit more time, Ian.
The MT-Orga-Team is just founded and they are looking for the best location right now.
But I think they are looking in the greater Berlin area and in Brandenburg (the Bundesland around Berlin).
It wouldn't be nice to spend one hour to leave the city each day for touring if we would stay in the inner city of Berlin.
In the outer areas we are both able to touring and also have a nice day sightseeing downtown.
I will go on to inform you ASAP it there are some news.

Yes Tony,
have look at this. On the 5th page smalltalk ends and interesting things are starting. There are also some english posts on that page.
Feel free to write in english, many of us will understand and answer you - more or less. Just as you write a little bit slower than you speak :-)
