I'm putting up this ad on behalf of member Steve ProfTDM. Steve's wife Louise contacted me today with some bad news about Steve. Here's part of her message...
(Prof TDM) Steve has terminal lung cancer and is in a hospice with not long to go. He was only diagnosed on 25th February with stage 4 cancer so it has been a very rapid illness. Before he went into the hospice, he spoke about his bike and that i would need to sell it and that i was to contact you on here to find out out to go about doing that as he wanted people from the Carpe Forum to have a chance to buy it first.
Some info about his bike I also received from Louise.
The bike is located in Glastonbury, Somerset.
In 2008 Steve owned a Yamaha TDM 850 Reg: R*** *S and he had an accident which meant the frame was wrote off but the engine was sound. He went out and bought another Yamaha TDM 850 Reg: S*****H and he transferred the engine from R*** *S to S*****H as it had lower mileage and was sound as an engine, he then scrapped the frame of R*** *S. He sprayed up all the panels from one or the other and fitted a new Leo Vince exhaust in 2009. Since then he has not done anything to it except enjoy riding it & keep it gleaming !
The photos I have sent you are as it is today in excellent condition. The current mileage is 36440 the MOT was going to be due on 21st May 2017 but I cannot find the MOT certificate so I sorned it on 1st April 2017. I have had a refund on the tax since I sorned it but it would have run out in September if that helps.
You would probably know better than me about price but Steve did say he would like a £1000.
Studley again here. Soooo, as you will see from the photos below, the bike is in amazing condition and imho worth every penny of the asking price.
Please post up if you're interested and I'll get in touch with you to pass on Louise's email address.

Whilst I've never met Steve, I have had chats with him via Carpe and he also helped me out when I was looking for engine parts for my old mk2a. He's a decent honest and generous guy and I've no reason to believe that his bike is nothing other than a genuine well cared for pristine example of what a mk2 should look and go like.
