Hello all,

Apologies if daft question...

The standard rear shock on my 2006 900 seems to have at least 40 clicks on the rebound damping adjustment - prob more but I stopped turning just in case. Manual says a maximum of 20 clicks clockwise from hardest (all the way counter-clockwise).

If I want standard a setting at 12 clicks, should I go for 12 clicks or should I see how many clicks there are in total, e.g. if there 60, then do 60/20 x 12 e.g. 36 clicks?

Also, how much static sag are people running? Even though my rear preload is on standard I've got barely any static sag at all.

Thanks!

Alex

I thought all the way in/Clockwise, was hardest,  turn CCW to soften..? I don't count the clicks I usually set it where it feels best to me, which at the moments seems to be everything on full, but I do weigh a bit more than average.. And the shock is probably very tired.

Sounds like you have an aftermarket shock/spring fitted if you have 40 clicks and no sag

Thanks, I don't think it is aftermarket - bike only had 2k miles on when I got it and was unmarked and totally stock. Ah well, I've fiddled with it and seemed to ride fine today.
