Hi folks, just picked up my 2004 900 last week. So far, really enjoying it. I've done an oil change and cleaned the cold start plunger, so it's ticking over nice again. Some starting issues, but I'm gonna check over the electrics before I buy a new battery.... What I really could be doing with is a service manual... I've tried searching the forum and used the various links, but so far I've had no joy. Does anyone have a link or even better, a manual for sale? Cheers

Welcome!!

Check the ht leads. Also, what's the airfilter and plugs like? I know they should be ok if it's ticking over ok, but....

Is the starter button ok?

Thanks guys... Starting issue seems to be a flat battery, but this is even when it's fresh of the charger / optimate. Gives a couple of slow turns then dies... Before starting it, the volts are sitting at 13.2 with the ignition off...I turn the ignition on, it drops to 12.8, after trying to start it, it's down at 12.4... Turn the ignition off then on again, it's back to about 13.15...i thought maybe the rec/reg, so once started, this is kicking out 14.4, which seems about right...I did think it was maybe over charging, but I don't think that's the case... I'm gonna pull the starter motor out next week and go through all the wiring carefully for a drain. I'm using motul 7100 10/30 oil, the air filter and plugs are ordered, I pick them up tomorrow... Looks like a pain to get to the plugs, but it'll give me a chance to change the antifreeze, so no big deal.... I've fitted a wing rack and top box plate, picked up an absolute bargain at the weekend, £10 for the full kit... It's a zzr11 kit, only needed to make a simple bracket and it fits like a glove... I'll upload some pics. Cheers folks 👍🍻

All my manuals and info help yourself.

Check stator wires, the three yellow ones, none of them should meter to earth. Sounds like battery is tired. Motobatt or genuine Yuasa seem to last, unless you spring for a LiFePO4 battery Powerful but spendy.
