Do you recall me posting that I could swear I saw a mobile speed trap on the motorways?

 

An articulated lorry, towing a single container, marked up "Highways Agency Mobile Speed Detector".

 

Cameras at each corner, amber flashing lights, steady 56mph.

 

Here you are.

 

 

My rear view mirror, from the hard shoulder of a slip road.

 

I imagine that this device scans every vehicle in both directions, checks for tax and MOT infringements (ANPR) and then asks how fast you were travelling.

 

Now you can see where the "convenience" of no more tax discs was targeted.

 

Keep it on the Black Stuff?

An effing huge, articulated, containerized, lorry hauled, sneaky, travelling, computerised up the jacksy, GATSO, ANPR , speed camera.

 

It has at least one camera at each upper corner of the container and I suspect it has more.

 

This is the second time I've clapped eyes on this. It says "Highways Agency Mobile Speed Detection" in big letters on the side of the shipping container.

 

Try Googling for images. You wont find any.
