There are a lot of smart people on here.... to my shame, I'm too idle to become smart.

So, could some kind soul out there answer a question for me ?

I've got a 1991 3VD TDM 850  and want to know what the idle mixture screws do.

When you unscrew them do they admit more fuel or more air ?

As you'll know, they're bloody footer to access so I really would like to know what I'm doing before I interfere with them.

Thanks in anticipation.....

More fuel.

Turn in to lean the mixture, turn out to richen the mixture.

You really don't want to be adjusting them willynilly though.  Before adjusting them, turn each screw in and counts the turns until they stop turning, that way you'll know the setting you can restore them to.  Each screw might be set differently so be sure to measure each screw.  Ideally you'll also balance the carbs after adjusting the screws.
