I had some H3 LED's that I put in my Ring lights but they fell apart in a few thousand miles, presumably due to the vibration. Admittedly all are not created equal, but from that experience I'd go for a dedicated LED system rather than fitting an LED in a conventional lamp

Although not LED lights these look as if they will doo the job,

Those lights are just 'ring' spotlight,

the others he has are ring fog lights, I know as I have a pair myself, unfortunately I don't have to nice ally housing that shop sell.

The ally housing they come with on ebay is the special bit, these are made by a company - http://www.magazi-moto.com/initial.php - I've thought about contacting them directly to see how much they are direct.

maybe ill do it now seems its quiet at work biggrin.gif

Mwahahaha

Let there be light

That's just one of a pair of these little beauties that arrived this morning. Look to be very well made with an aluminium body, and only 11 days from order to delivery.

Only place I can really think to fit them on the 900 is bolted to the plastic bit under the headlights, unless anyones got any better ideas, I've not got engine bars to mount them on, and the crash bungs will prevent me fitting them to the engine mounts.

Could make you some S/S brkts to fit between crash bung and and frame and up and over (or down and under) afore mentioned bung.

I did wonder about that, but I'm not sure if spacing the crash bung out from the frame bracket a bit would weaken its mount in the event of an off.

You only need a piece of metal (aluminum's the best) flat bar. B&Q's got them in every shapes/sizes. Or visit your local scrapyard/dumping area/metal store...
I've used 2.5mm thick one- I don't think it will weaken crash pad mount (although I use engine cage instead)

I assume there is a washer between the bung and the frame, you will just be replacing it with the brkt (3mm is all)

Cunning plan. Bought a couple of right angle brackets intended for joining bits of wood together, need to paint them but it looks ok fitted behind the crash bung with the spot light on top. Unfortunately despite marinating all day in plus gas I can't budge the left mushroom/engine bolt with my electric impact driver. Might need to find someone with an air wrench.

Now that I've seen a few examples in action I'm defo going to get me some of these.

Thinking of fettling some sort of strap/bracket to go around the frame section just below the faring/tank (at cyl level) to then attach the lights to. Need to check I won't be adjusting them on the road with my knee's, but it seems like a sensible place for them.

Otherwise it's under the main light as per others, but not really the place I want to put them.

I haven't got engine bars / shroom's on my 9er, so reducing the mounting options a little.

You could still mount the on the front engine mount bolts where the crash would go if you had them. My only worry with them in that position is the lower the are the higher they have to be angled to get the distance, so in order to avoid blinding people I might not get as much range on them as if I mounted them higher. I'll get some photos/video up when I finally mange the get the left bolt undone.

Chill, I love the look of those Solstace, especially the idea that you can get different lenses for them, so could have one spot and one wide angle. Silly money over here though, over £200 for a pair compared to £60 for a pair of the ones I've fitted

Chri I bought mine a while back cost $300 oz.
Have just got a Stainless Steal bracket made for them so hope to have them mounted in the next wek or so. When fitted will up load pixs.
I tryed to mount them under Headlight but not enough room so they will be coming off the engine frame bolt.
As you said about angle, will have to see.
I would have loved to have them higher but with out drilling holes in Fairing there was no were else to fit them.

I'd like to try a pair of these. Never seen them, but I like the LED concept and they seem bright.

well me being a cheap skate went for those ones from America

Unbelievable how fast the shipping was for the cost and cant believe how good the quality is! there all metal bodied, very sturdy and strong.

I got chrome ones as they were cheaper but have already painted one satin black, looks allreet.

Here's some pics of my practise mount

Mounting bracket made from a thin sheet of stainless we had lying around

Light mounted on the engine bar

Im gonna get some Pclips and use them as with the rubber mount they should be better than home made ones,

I'm thinking I'll just wire them to sidelights, its a shame he does do ones with orange LED's, they would look good as indicators or running lights

Finally managed to get the engine mount bolt undone (after a week of marinating in plus gas several times a day and quite a lot of work with the impact driver) so have now got both the 1500 lumen LED's fitted. Got a cheap right angle bracket from B&Q that seems to do the job

Though this does mean one sits closer in to the bike than the other, I might be better off getting some sheet metal and making my own brackets rather than just painting these.

I've put a couple of switches on the dash under the warning lights, one's an on-off switch for the heated jacket, the other is an on-off-on and connects the signal wire on a relay to the dipped or full beam headlight, so I can have the LED's off, on when the dipped beam is on, or on with the full beam.

They're chuffing bright

I've been commuting all week with only the right one fitted and it's a big improvement over just the dipped headlight. Not had anyone flash at me yet so I hope it's not dazzling anyone. No night time pics of them yet though as I need a new rear tyre before I can use them
