Things may have moved on in 20 years but can you overhaul Mk2A carb emulsion tubes?

Let me guess, smell of petrol, back firing and enhanced top end?
Mine need doing, too.
Off to the mechanics for me to have them replaced.

I'm puzzled why mk2a carbs are a popular conversion if they make life more difficult ?

A Portuguese mechanic posted up some time ago about this, seem to recall they were pressed out, but replacements seem thin on the ground...
Edit... just been having a poke about, Kedo still have them and at NRP after putting in BDSR38 needle jet it brought up these for a 98-01 R1 which i think have the same carbs !!? i know the Thunderace does, these toobs are nickel plated...

Thanks for the replies - I know the Mk2 were push to replace, interested to know if the R1 carbs resemble the Mk2 or Mk2A
Here's a vid of tube replacement on an R1, a bit "heath robinson" but he mentions not finding a method so went with this, cant imagine it's very different from mk2a carbs. Need this info myself for reference down the road having just got a set of mk2a carbs.
According to Wiki R1 used Keihin CV carbs, video may still be of help.. but these 98-99 R1 carbs are Mikuni..
Mk2a- ------4TX 14900-40
R1-98-99---4XV 14900-00 plus 4 further assembly's so i'm assuming BDSR carbs !

Yeah, strange that only Kedo seem to supply the toobs for the BDSR's. I don't think Fowlers supply 'em either.

Yea so can only presume it's on account of non requirement generally.
