Hi,

Please can anyone tell me whether HT leads can be purchased without the coilpack? I think its called. If so, can you recommend a seller.

The rubber part that houses the plug is split at the top where the ht enters. So I want to replace the pair of them before it gets any worse. The bike is still running fine at present.

Thanks

I think its the rubber boot that i need, but i dont know if these can be bough on there own,

A few of the boys have contacted Magnecor for leads, but think you may need to phone to request.. why dont you wrap the leads in amalgamating tape, including the plugs, mine have this tape on a few years now..

+1 for Magnecore, think the fellas name is Phil. Measure the diameter of the plastic cowling where the lead comes out of the coil and they'll do a good quality boot for it too. No need for self amalgamating tape if the boots a good fit. The best fit for the 850 is from a mk1 escort apparently! Don't know about for a 9er.

Yeth self amalg is a patch for the initial prob... Leads breaking down.... Fix the prob with new magnecor leads (way more flex and less brittle) .... THEN self amalg if you feel the need!!!

on the mk1 you need to be careful that the leads are almost resistance free - many of the carbon fibre leads have an extremey high resistance - as i found out when replacing mine
