Hello gang

Just had my seat done. Apologies for bragging bout it but had to send my seat and been waiting impatiently for it to come back for like 2 months. Very excited and anxious when parcel arrived and very proud of the final effect. They did a bloody good job IMHO, here is a link to gallery:

15mm thick gel pad included to keep me bum happy. Been riding for two days now and couldn't be more happy.

Advertising is banned here so won't be mentioning name of the company. Drop me a message if interested.

Sorry dapleb, wasn't my intention to advertise, I've got no connections to the company. Just sharing my joy, that's it bro. Fell free to nuke the post or move it into more appropriate category if necessary.

No need. But if you are happy, which you seem to be very, there is a place specifically for singing their praises or a "review" section for reviewing yer comfy seat.

It is definitely summat to shouts out as noubt worse than being tortured whilst trying to enjoy a pootle.

As others have said Very Nice !
Question
How did you decide on end result i.e. gel insert etc did you try someone else's ?
That's one of my biggest concerns about getting a custom seat - a lot of cash for something that's not quite right
Pro 's - Con 's for gel inserts - Warm vs Cold weather riding etc

Gel insert on my last bike would burn your arse off on a really hot day and be quite hard when cold, sheepskin helped a lot though.

That's what worries me !
Although my seats no too bad there are day's when my arse is aching
I do have a mesh type seat cover ( Sure it was Ali G who posted them up ) which does help but sometimes I think something else is required

Sheepskin is comfortable, especially when cold.

I tried a gel pad and found it no more comfortable. On my bikes after the TDM I have used additional layers of neoprene foam. I aim for fairly firm support for the 'sit bones'. I would experiment and see what works for you. The foam is cheap.

That seat looks fantastic @devnull.

I had a gel pad built into my old Africa Twin seat and it didn’t seem to offer any significant advantage, for me at least. Everyone is different. I have an Airhawk that I hardly use because I don’t have an issue with the standard TDM seat, but I’ve never tried a sheepskin. I’m intruiged!

I have been using an Airhawk for a few years now.  A bit of experimenting with pressures to begin with but it appears to be very airtight, I haven't adjusted it for a few years now.  It looks so under inflated that people cannot believe it makes a

difference.

I must give the Airhawk another go, but as I said I dont have any real issues with the standard perch. I havent used it since I had my Africa Twin.
