Joe,

I'll be there for sure (if im still allowed an 'all - traitor etc etc).

For me, the weekend beginning the 4th would be ideal but i can make almost any date.

Thanks, Dave

BTW, Sandy on the lava red 900 at bellingham would probably come to - that ok too?

I wouldn't have that pair o' cnuts back again Joe - I don't remember them buying a round - come to think of it - neither did you......... tongue.gif

Hmmm, 1100 miles round trip. Think if I'm going to do this one I'd have to do it as part of a weeks tour of Scotland. Going to need to work out how much biking I can get away with this year with this, Germany and the Dordoigne.

If its the weekends either 4th or 11th put me down as a definite. I would prefer the 11th, as it's easier for work.
Should we book for three nights? That will give us two free days to ride out.
Is this sort of missionary work, bringing motorcycle civilization to the northern masses? Or just a good piss-up?

I can hardly wait!!!!!!

Mmmmmmmmm - A nice long ride up to Aviemore. Enjoyed the ride back and for to Bellingham last year.

Was looking into the iron-but web site - 1,000 miles in 24 hours. I worked out that I would have to ride from Swindon to Inverness and back to achieve this - but what is the point of sitting on a motorway for 15 hours just to do 1,000 miles. Wheres the fun in that?

I will as usual leave my decision to the last minute. I believe there is camping in the area, so if the auspices are propituous, I shall embark on the Friday.

Lads,

I have just booked the bunkhouse but couldn't get the weekend of 4th September. Instead we have the weekend of 11th September for two nights departing on Sunday 13th. I have booked twelve bunks in 2x6 bunk rooms. Price is £30 each for the weekend and that includes all linen and towels and the use of the kitchen if you want (but it's a bit small I seem to recall). Have a look here for more info http://www.aviemore-....com/index.html

Eating and drinking in the village of Aviemore is great and can be pretty cheap to boot (except the beer!). Send your cheques for £30 to me made out to Aviemore Bunkhouse - NOT MADE OUT TO ME! PM me for my address. Nearest camping is Dalraddy about 3 miles away or Glenmore about 6 miles away. Remember - first come first served!!

Cheers,

Joe

There's a legend in Aviemore that a white-hot spacecraft landed that very evening from which a red-eyed alien ph34r.gif emerged uttering a strange language - the main sound being something like "Feck....feck...feck...." - and emitting sulphurous gases. They scare the kids to sleep with stories that it might return. tongue.gif

Joe,

Cheque Bouncing its way up. banana.gif

11th to 13th OK, would have prefered to tent it, but you will need to fill the bunk house.

So, If there is a reserve list for a bunk, I will volunteer to go to the snorers section a mile down the road.

Cheers, Ivan
