Do we have a strategy for cooking kit etc. or are all going fully equipped?

I'm taking stove, pan set and espresso pot. I normally set off with enough food for a couple of meals, (eg few packs of cous-cous and a chorizo) but try to pick up bread, eggs, bacon, veg, cheese, meat, wine etc on route. Well worth trying to make sure your topbox is only half full for this purpose. If there's enough enough of us interested in doing communal food I might be tempted to take a chopping board and decent knife.

We should have plenty between us, quite welcome to use mine when needed. I can dig out a spare set of pans and should have a spare gas stove if you want to borrow some kit and have got the luggage space.

I bought a new cookset for this trip (MSR quick 2 system), and it seems nobody makes sets that include a kettle like my old tranga clone set. boiling water in a pan just isn't the same

It is SO worth getting a stainless steel kettle for brew ups, those ally ones leave a taste ( of ally) in every brew.

er question ? do those tall gas canisters fit your stove ? as it looks like you have a screw fitting stove, might be well to test it.

Cats, see if you can get an electric one that you can power from your bike, then you could put a bracket on the handlebars between the clamps to hold it with, which will cover up that unsightly gap you've left between the phone and the satnav laugh.gif

If you're planning on going to Austria on this trip be careful if any of you have fitted HID lights.
Technically they're illegal all over the EU, but we generally get away with it here

But just read on the GS forum that people are getting pulled by the Austrian police & getting 200 euro fines if they have HID fitted !
