Where's Pete and Clare when you need them!

I am certainly interested but cannot commit at present.

We will be using the van more next year and I am hoping to do both the TT (practice week) and MGP

Clare says she will probably not go ... so we may need another travelling nurse/carer

We could do Portsmouth to St Malo, a lot less road miles.... not too dear.

Add to that £59 for a four berth cabin and it's bang on £150

That's 80 miles to Portsmouth (for me) plus 80 miles in France to the BnB

Hi Martin,

Well done for organising this one again. Regretted not booking to go this April so I'm definitely in for next year.

Let me know how / when you want the deposit.

Cheers Dave

Indeed. This pic was taken at 8am, the day of departure, everyone else was getting kit on to go. Vodka at 4am? Never!

I've decided that I don't want a stupid early start to catch the 10.30 ferry back to the UK, so here is my plan for the return journey: get up on the Sunday morning and have a leisurely breakfast. Take a nice easy ride from Mototrannis up to St Malo, stopping along the way for coffee and lunch. Find a B&B or small hotel nearish to the ferry terminal and catch the ferry back on the Monday morning. I know it adds to the cost and means another day off work but bike tours are meant to be enjoyable and setting off at silly o'clock and dashing 90 miles to catch a ferry is not my idea of enjoyment ....
Now on 9er number 2 .....

Clare and I got an overnight ferry there and also coming back.

This allowed a leisurely ride back to the ferry.

... another option. Disadvantage was our final French meal (in ferry port) was wine-free as we had to ride the bike onto the ferry

I would probably do one of these options again as I still have a long ride from ferry to north west

Would be with Pete on this at the moment as I too would have a 5 hours trip north from the port. Was planning to take Monday off work if we were on the sunday ferry. If we were getting the ferry on Mon then would need Tuesday off so will probably stick with the original plan or look to come back overnight on Sundays.
