Hi all.
As the title says I have done the 17" front wheel mod. And all I can say is what a difference. It's now my perfect bike. The handling is so much better. Wish I had done it years ago. Only problem I had doing it was getting the disc bolts out.
Thanks Steve

If you can get a 17" that's the right one to match I can highly recommend the mod. Makes the bike handle so much better.

Also opens up a lot more tyre package deals I believe...

Considering doing this myself - only thing holding me back is that I have full spare set of standard wheels which makes tyre changes a lot easier :)

If you want it, I have a 17" wheel for a MK2 for free. If not, it is getting dumped.

2004 900 - Blue with lots of goodies

2012 900 - Still adding shiny bits. Was black, changed to white and now back to black again.

Swarf is correct, but I completely forgot. Here are the pics, but remember, that they are for a MK2. I don't know if the fitment is the same for a Mk1. I'll have to give him first dibs, Drewpy. Sorry. My mistake.

In the last pic of that lot the wheel is 17 x 3.00...marked 3CV, which is off a mighty FJ1200. The R1/R6 are sized at 17 x 3.50 .... is there a preference for the wider R1 or the narrower FJ version ?

My understanding is that the FJ1200 fits the MK2 and the R1/R6 fits the 900. Correct me if I'm wrong.
