As an alternative; IAM are offering their Ridecheck for free (normally £30.00) this will be limited to riders living in Scotland and will be carried out by IAM observers who will be members of a local (to you) IAM affiliated group. The rides will be organised for a mutually convenient time /place for yourself and the observer, remember these guys are doing this on a voluntary basis.
If you would have considered signing up for Bikesafe, or you have previously done Bikesafe and would like another 1-2-1 then please sign up for the RideScotFree campaign.
The ride will last about an hour, on your own bike, and the observer will provide you with a post test report. There is no test and no pass or fail.
Please follow the link to IAM web site sign up page; you have nothing to lose.

The forces in Scotland have merged to become Police Scotland, the disruption this has caused has resulted in Bikesafe being shelved this year. There is optimism that it will resurface, but who knows?

We had the police saying that they could only do one day in England.
Had a big conference here in Merseyside to decide if volunteer groups could take over the second day so it cuts the cost in half for them.
Had the first Bike -safe last week and RoSPA and the IAM took over the second day, no problem.

That was the good bit of the trip. Found the weather to be as bad as the roads in the UK!

Cheers babus,
The observer you had, Elliot, is one of the most experiened in our wee group, he can certainly hustle a Tiger.. Glad you enjoyed the occasion and that you were able to take something away with you (as well as your new found respect for our road network and weather :-) )
