I've been unhappy with the raised suspension after replacing the rear shock with a Hagon unit.

I don't like being on tippee toe

So as I had a spare seat unit and got a bit of the covering for £3.

I thought I'd do a bit of cutting and carving.

I see you've gone for the late TDM Red seat colouring ;)

Looks good - only concern would be the reduced confort padding on the butt area...unless you are substituting this with cake :hide:

There's plenty of padding left (I hope), the seat just feels a bit broader. I'll be trying it out at the weekend.

They had a brighter red, but it had all gone when I went back.  ;)

Still 3 squid for enough to cover a whole seat works for me.  :badgerrock:

I like the red. But then I'm one of the only people here to like the red & grey 9er colour scheme. Seat could do with a bit of botox though :P

Good job Mick. I've got the grey with pink... I mean plumb seat and I quite like it although I've nicked the custom seat off my old niner cos I couldn't reach the ground :)

That colour scheme looks good with a black seat. :badgerrock:

The seat cover material was cheap, end of roll, and vaguely the right colour so I grabbed it.

Trouble is, it is thicker than the seat cover material and that made it very difficult to stretch it to fit.

I think you done well to get it as good as you did, sharper curve after the foam cutting.

The shape of the seat makes it quite difficult to get the wrinkles out, did this when i had the mk1 Mick, here's a piccy of what i did to get rid of the wrinkles

I used 2 pieces, glued and stapled... far as i know it's still holding up..
