everytime without fail it seems when I order from M+P they miss something out

ordered goodridge lines for bike + other stuff, placed order 5th april

box arrives today.... no brake lines, so call M+P

"Oh that part of the order comes from Goodridge themselves"

Fine say I, when can I expect that then please (note I am being pleasant here)

"well we havn't ordered them yet sir, and there is a 10 working day lead time from Goodridge..."

So, what you're saying is that although I placed an order with you on 6th, if you order them from Goodridge today I'll be luck to get them by 30th April, Thats a whole bloody month near enough from me placing order!!!

"Yes"

Why didnt you tell me this when I placed the order

"I can cancel that part of the order for you"

Notice how the 'customer service' person deftly ignores what I've said.... they must have training courses from that (mind you is that why most customer service call centres as abroad, it is cheaper AND those working there geniunely do not understand a word you say, so they can safely ignore what you are saying and continue with the script?!!?)

Too bloody right luv (pleasantness gone now), and can you tell me why I wasn't told of this when I placed order (asked again)

"that has been cancelled for you now"

No apology, ignored question 2nd time too... f*ck 'em

Every time without fail they f*ck something up, and why oh why can't they tell you that the brake orders have an extra 10 day lead time, it don't take much

Bailed out, yet again, by Bykebitz who will get me a HEL kit in 2 days max!!

Done: Homo sap navigation/ twisty thing on bars to make it go vroom/ grabby thing to make it stop (in front of twisty thing)/ 'leccy things front and rear to make it glow at night/ Sucky + drippy oiler thing to keep chains moist (!!) / Laser Pro Stock Race pipes / bleeding ear drums (see previous mod)
To do: Educate homo sap nav system to operate twisty + grabby things/ get ear plugs

Find local bike parts place Bykebitz tend to overcharge a bit, so stopped using them and went for the order by phone in advance with M&P route.

However I invariably end up going to Bykebitz to bail me out when M&P f*ck up, so I may as well go straight to Bykebitz in future I guess!

Tone, call M&P, cancel order and go else where mate!!

Only used M&P a once for a compression gauge and had no problems with them. I do agree with jht though that Bykebitz are flipping brilliant. Bigger places will always be cheaper for parts but thier staff are always friendly and better still they have all the microfiches and don't mind spending some time going through them with you to work out what parts you want. good.gif

sure as hell carry more stock than the local bike shop, who have to order everything in

used to use them a lot and recently ( within the last year or so ) they have been pretty poor - sounds as if they're keeping less & less "in stock" prob trying to keep costs down- was great when they used to have a shop in Edinburgh which then became infinity motorcycles which now is closed we just have bloody Hein Gerike now I fookin hate them ( or the Edinburgh branch at least )

They went bust a few years ago (& started up again as M&P Direct), thats when all the shops closed down - prob then that they started lowering the inventory, to keep the cash flow up.

Must sya I haven't used them that much since they re-started - I tend to use Busters more

Busters and M&P are actually the same company, or were 18months ago when i went between both Swansea stores rolleyes.gif

in M&Ps defence they have been really good recently
i've had 3orders with them since i last posted
1 for an item they hadnt sold before(3pack of givi locks) which had to have a part number created and then ordered, arrived within a week as promised.
brake pads and discs which arrived when promised and then a followup couple of bits that i had forgotten
each time they have given me atleast 10% discount for MAG when requested.

trick is to find all the items you want on their website and then phone up with the part numbers and ask what discount they can do for MAG
(ps. dont say BMF, they'll just laugh at you blush.gif )

There used to be a shop in Glasgow called Scotbike, which became Scotbike M&P and one day they just closed down with no warning. The story I got told was that M&P's parent company's head office was in one of the Word Trade Towers and when they went down, so did the rest of the company.

Dont know if it's true but it's a nice story.

Think you're slightly confused there Toneski

M&P and MPS are the same company now.

Busters is the retail side of LEM distribution, and is run by Mark Collins, who started M&P many years ago

Mark has recently bought back M & P's, possibly in the last 12 to 18 months.
Personally I've ever had any probs with M&P's but then again they are on my doorstep and I just pop over when I need stuff

I stand (or rather I'm sat down at the mo) corrected

After M&P re-started, I did notice their prices went up somewhat, so I stopped using them, and switched to busters, however their prices seem to have become more competitve over recent months so this maybe the reason

I'm with jht on this. BikeB are more pricey but at least I can ride there in 10mins and see what I'm about to buy.

Ordered some Buffalo pants from M&P this year. Told them over the phone my waist size 38, as the pants come in s/m/l/xl/xxl/xxxl "you'll be needing large then" he said. Sure? "Yes". OK then.

Sent me large
Sent em back, too small
Sent me Xl
Sent em back too small
Sent me XXl
Sent em back too small
Sent me XXXl
They fit

This took weeks. Weeks of me wanting to have some knee protection.

So, 10 mins ride to BikeBytz, try some on, pay £20 more and don't go through that Sh**mare again
