As all of the american TDM riders could fit in my living room (with TDM's)
this post will probably be one of the shortest on carpe-tdm.

The MSF homepage.

Take (at a minimum) the Motorcyle Safety Foundation's basic riding course.
The advanced course is highly recomended.

Good advice, Thomas.

I took the MSF course a few years ago after I'd been riding for many years already. I was pleasantly surprised to learn a few things I didn't already know. The practical riding part was fun and useful tips as well. One of these days I'll take the advanced course, I reckon.

Having joined an Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) bike club some years back I'd recommend advanced training to anyone. I learned loads and contrary to popular believe advanced training isn't full of old blokes on BMWs

1992 Mk1, 76k miles, Hagon springs, MTC exhaust, 4½ gears Gone now :(
2009 900 abs, 42k miles, Yamaha heated grips, double bubble screen, R&G crash bungs, scottoiler, Autocom, 1500 lumen LED spotlights.

...well I include me in there! I've done the RoSPA bike course (essentially the same Police Roadcraft as IAM) and would recommend it to everyone!, and I'm a Group Observer the IAM car lot too. blink.gif

I think it's ok to stray off topic now and then as long as somebody pulls us back in. blink.gif

I have to say I think the IAM test was a bit easy, and once you showed any bit of skill above test level you could pass, The RoSPA one is a bit more demanding, I'm doing my training for that at the moment and I hear it's hard enough to pass.
