Instead of what makes an adventure bike, maybe the question should be what makes a bike adventure.  Here's an example of what our two wheeled cousins sans engines get up to:

Anyone fancy doing this on a TDM?

I'm still quite agile on my push bike but no good with heights so no thanks, push bike or TDM.

Hey ET you're not far off, get a look at this.

that was cool. I used to live there in the olden days. I reckon post bikes could be a really affordable adventure bike.

The more I read about that Honda cc110 the more I fancy. Whole different riding style to a 1200cc GS.

I could do that on me TDM no trouble, but I don't want to get me new panniers scratched so I'd better not give it a go ..ahem

Second-hand Tri-ang "Wizard" tricycle (minus rear mudguards, plus super push-action bell)

In 1953 took 4 year-old me on solo, unauthorised "adventure" from Marsden Street, South Shields into the 'outback badlands' of Jarrow .. (just)

RH Pedal fell off 50 yards from front door on way back ..

.. much distress caused to all concerned when I walked through front door.

Never been on a real adventure since ... maybe I should buy another Tri-ang
