After getting rid of the tedium earlier this year, I've been in the biking wilderness owning an Honda NC750X, then overboard with an Honda VFR1200F.... fookin ballistic missile, I've shaved the front tyre to a point in 3,000 miles and it's fooked, and my licence would be too if I keep it much longer!.....Soooo on Wednesday I took a test on a Supertenere 1200, 2011 plate 15'000 miles so just run in, and what a stonking machine :good: after what the journo's said about the lack of power, excessive weight etc I was a bit apprehensive, but It's a load of bollocks! it's a big TDM900 on steroids :badgerrock: what a stonking bike and loved every minute of the ride, at first I thought the journo's were right, it felt a bit soft.....daft tw@t it was in "T" touring mode! so I flicked it into "S" mode and normal service was resumed woohoo :clapping: the weight is invisible even stationary, I'm pleased I waited a while and stopped away from the Tracer etc as this is in my mind a natural replacement for the niner.....and I pick it up on Saturday and it's a black one

Great choice. The S10 is another bike I've been studying, just for the fact you get such a a lot for the money.

Nice bike Jono

I went for the Tracer. And I must admit it's a beast. Very quick off the mark (almost too quick in 'A' mode) and handles lovely. I must admit I have a soft spot for the Super Ten. Who knows........... ;)

I traded my 9er or the S10 then went and got another 9er.   I do find it heavy moving it around but once moving it's a great bike.

Enjoy.

I thought you still had the S10 Dave. I kept meaning to ask why you didn't ride it much.

Shame about Pete and Tym's forum folding. I understand Pete is getting another tractor, or that's what I thought about my XT600. Why don't they use maximum bikes forum anymore?

I noticed on other forums I lurk on that people buy the Tracer say they love it, then the next thing you know they're selling it. I thought it a terrific bike, but as you say a beast, not a touring tool at all really.

Still got the S10, that little more grunt and size I prefer for touring.

Agree it's a shame but Pete said he and Tym went into it knowing that Bookface is taking over from the forums and if it didn't take off they'd kill it off. Max bikes is very old software and is sure to collapse soon too, got a closed section on FB now too.

I had an account on FB when it was in it's infancy in the UK and then closed it, opened another then closed it. I only keep an account open because of the fact everyone uses it, but I dislike it bloody intensely. Best to specialise and compartmentalise interests I've found. It keeps the peace. Carpe is like my neighbours garage when I was a kid, other bikers pop in from time to time to talk bikes, not the names of their kittens that one of their 20 cats just had.

Agree with that too, have to sort through 5 gallons of shite to get an ounce of real info.

I've only just joined to keep in touch with Ren, Chris Bruce and Bob.
