Cold Starting Problem

Hi All

My 900 is failing to start at the moment. I suspect its the cold start mechanism thats causing the issue as it started fine up until the cold spell.

Battery is new and bike is on a trickle charger.

It turns over fine but fails to start, i did get it going eventually ast week and rode it for about an hour with no issue at all.

I have never delved into the heart 0f a 900 before, is ther any one local to Watton Norfolk who would be willing and able to come and give me a hand.

Tea and cake and renumeration are on offer.

I away this weekend to celebrate my retirement on Monday, but am here after that.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi Doggy, when you switch the key on, do you hear the fuel pump running? Not very loud, so you need to listen carefully.

I'm in Swaffham, so not far away, but have limited transport as my 9er is off the road until Spring.

Might be able to get over next week at some point other than Mon/Tues.

Scotoiler with a custom made swing arm delivery unit. Little update

Started first time this morning, ticks over ok, went for a 30 mile run,felt a bit off when cold then when hot lost throttle response and a bit of a misfire.

Still ticks over ok.

Hmm not ht leads arcing to frame ? Or an air leak ? Check blank plug is on left throttle body pip if you don't have scottoiler

Er I'll have to take the side off but I'll get one. The nipple is on left side to rear of throttle body quite low down. The one on right side is used for the fuel pressure regulator.

Fixed it. CSM full of crud and stuck. Cleaned out and a boot kit fitted. Changed plugs and air filter, checked throttle body balance, its all good. 😎
