Has anyone ever replace the voltage regulator/rectifier from a Mark 1 TDM 850 with the regulator/rectifier from a Mark 2 TDM 850?

Is it plug and play? Are the connectors compatible?
I have read the Mark 2 regulators/rectifiers are higher quality and more reliable.

If you were to replace the regulator/rectifier on your Mark 1, what vendors would you recommend?
Any thoughts?

thanks in advance!

Yup, well no ,not with a mk2 reg/rec, sure i've read it's been fitted before but memory aint helping, i fitted a Shindengen Mosfet reg/rec FH020AA straight from the battery, it's a bit large to fit in the same place as the oem, fitted mine under the plastic mudguard just below the seat.. still got it somewhere in storage..

The 91-93 mk1 reg/rec is different to the 94-95 mk wan.  Early mk1 on sits close to the headstock, later mk1 wan sits on the left behind the side panel/cowling.  Later mk1 wan was used on the TRX850 but not on later mk2 TDM.

Electrex also have different reg recs for different models so not sure if a mk2 reg rec is suitable for a mk1
