Topbox for me too, then suspension tuning.
I expect hand guards to be a nice mod too - when i get around to doing it.
....and if I ever get some aftermarket cans I expect they go on the top of the list.

Centre stand is handy for checking the chain, but not essential.

New seals, pistons and lines on front brake (weyhey, so this bike has brakes after all )
Scottoiler + dual injector (although flow is modest in the cold, even on max-setting )
Tankbag (not as roomy as a top box but looks less hideous and a lot more stable if you regularly ride fast on (windy)motorways )
Handguards (Suzuki V-Strom ones)
Philips BlueVision bulbs (I hope so anyway, haven't riden in the dark since fitting them)

I was discussing this with a neighbour, I have nothing against sports bikes, I owned 3 600 sports bikes and Honda Blackbird before I found the TDM. I know people will have said this before but I think the TDM has changed my view of bikes a bit. I still ride quick when I want to, but I just a bit more mellow. Why does the TDM sell well on the continent, because they use their bikes to go places not just for a quick blast at the weekend. I now use my bike for all sorts and the TDM is great. I shall now step down from soap box, not having a go just saying how I feel.
Can't wait until Agust when my new luggage will get a work out on the way down to the South of France.

Expensive is a relative term! The wing rack was only £50 (god bless fleabay), but I bought the topbox and panniers new, £163 for 52l (I thought it was big untill I BMW GT with a topbox my would have fitted in with room to spare!) and the 41l panniers where £259 (they have the little code lock bit so you do not have open the whole thing). So yes but well worth it!
Came from Bykebitz in Yatley.

Very good service.

Hmm, I actually think the fairing is brilliant: Small enough to not feel being locked in while still enabling a rather comfortable 100-something mph.
And it looks quite pretty as well imho.

OK, I can't tell for sure exactly what improvement was caused by the Gold Valves, as I also replaced both the fork tubes, bushings and oil...
Anyhow, the feeling of a soft, yet rock stable fork I have never had before (maybe part from with my mate's '01 Pegaso). Only problem now is that I need to buy a new rear shock. While my arms hardly register the taramac holes, my arse screams...
This is my favourite mod

My little 40mm high grippy toy koala mascot. It clips onto the wiring loom near the ignition.
I like my TDM the way it is, mostly standard, the way Mr Yamaha made it - basic and a little agricultural.
The koala just adds the finishing touch.
