I Need A Shrink

- my TDM is still worth between 4000 and 4500 if I were to sell it
- one of his customers that has recently bought a brand spanking new XTZ660 Tenere will very likely be parting with it again soon. Very low mileage, perfect condition, a lot cheaper than new.
besides that I just put the SV650S back on the market since the annual winter dip in 2nd hand online sales seems to be nearings its end. So I am looking at some extra cash...
can someone get me a shrink before I make some terrible error?

good point. But my gf rides a naked FZ6 and a cruising speed of 140km/h is currently already at the limit of her comfort zone so that will not be a real issue...

indeed. I checked with my dealer as well and according to him Yamaha had explicitly denied any plans for a new super ten in 2009.

yes, its beginning to piss me off
1. its a rumour started by MCN so everyone should automatically assume its complete bollox
2. why not use search function to discover the other 27topics where we've been told we are wrong and it is coming on "xx date" and then nothing...

but the Ten is higher, also looks nicer imho. Besides, I already have an official Yam dealer that I trust and the only Kawa dealer anywhere near where I live I would never let touch my bike...

We have already planned quite some rides the coming weeks (some local rides in Belgium and trips to the Visges and the Champagne region). So that shouldn't be a problem
But I already did quite a long tour with the demo model of the importer here in Belgium and was really very pleasantly surprised by the bike. The bike has sufficient grunt for only 48bhp and 58Nm torque. Even on the highway at slightly illegal speeds it still had enough breath to allow passing other vehicles with a flick of the wrist. Which was my main concern if I was to swap the TDM for the XTZ.
Steering is also more neutral than you would expect with the soft suspension and the 21" front wheel. The brakes are certainly adequate and give loads of feedback. The main downsides I found during that test ride where the non-existent storage space under the saddle and the weirdly shaped tank which requires special tank bags...
But I'll let you know in a few weeks how I get along with it on day-to-day rides.
