TDM 900 53 plate, 34,400 miles.

When I realised I'd only covered under 4000 miles in the past 3 years then it's time to move on and let someone else enjoy what has been the most reliable and enjoyable bike I've owned.

Not as pretty as anything Catsbum would knock out but probably the most sorted and gruntiest 900 around - here's the spec:

  • Galaxy Blue, 2 owners (me for 7 years)
  • Engine mildly tuned by TTS at 8000 miles (copy of the invoice on request) This gives it lovely mid range torque while still getting 55+ mpg, NO lumpy running and surging!
  • Fournales rear suspension unit (overhauled and fresh oil by myself last year) With Duo for using with a passenger.
  • Race Tech emulator conversion to front forks on stock springs. Along with the rear conversion and a Gel seat, this gives the sort of ride quality that allows long hauls on a dodgy back ;-)
  • Akrapovic silencers with decibel killers fitted. along with a Power Commander and K+N filter and set up on a Dynojet dynomometer the fuelling is spot on.
  • Scottoiler with extra capacity tube
  • Givi plate on the handrail and Givi PL side carriers, Yamaha top box
  • Centre stand
  • BMW GS1150 handguards and Oxford hotgrips
  • Selection of rear sprockets and a speedo recalibration module
  • MRA screen, Yamaha engine bars, LED rear light.

Apart from a replacement modified camchain tensioner in 2007, this bike has been totally reliable and serviced by myself using Motul semi synth oil.

12 month MOT, Tax til October, new Conti Attack on the front and fresh brake pads all round. Steering head bearings and suspension linkages recently stripped and regreased.

Bad points? Scuff marks on top fairing, scratches on tank, paint scuff on frame on right side when a trailer strap snapped and the bike fell over. This is the only time it's been on it's side - never crashed.

£2400...........................may exchange for something smaller and "interesting"

End of an era Alan :oldgit: . Good luck with the sale, it's a great bike and that's a good price for such a well equipped and looked after steed. Don't be a stranger to Carpe when it's gone though.

Interesting about the Merc Stu - On a sunny day and with the roof down it's as much fun on quiet A roads as a bike - just can't believe I'm saying that!

That wee bike looks ideal - it'll pack into the boot................

I kind of know what you mean. I had a shot of a 911 997 rag top which I took for a blast through some of my favorite biking roads. I could almost have gave up bike for 911.
