Posted 16 September 2007 - 02:54 pm
Following on from last years effort: http://www.carpe-tdm...amp;hl=calendar
Please submit any pics to me via belpad(at)hotmail(dot)com. I will confirm receipt of ALL submitted pics....if you don't get confirmation, assume I have not received the pic(s). A description, text or caption to go with the piccy would be noice too and lettuce snow your Carpe username too.
Not forgetting the wise words of TDMBob: "All digi photos are at 72 dpi as thats all they need to be to look good on a pc screen what you need is about 266 to 300 dpi for them to look good on printed material so whoever sends you pics next year will need to resize them in photoshop to A4 size and abt 266dpi before they send them....". Luckily last year we had a couple of kind I.T. savvvy chaps who helped with this, thanks again for that, if you guys can help again this year it would be greatly appreciated.
Please post 'ere if you have any quezzies, suggestions, requests, or if you are likely to be interested in a 2008 calendar. Always interested in feedback from last years effort.
All entries will be displayed in the gallery in the "Calendars category.

If alot/most people want .PDF then a print run will become unfeasible and it will just be .PDF's this year.

what!? Don't tell me you have a .... job ?
Hope to take some good pics over the upcoming long weekend. I'll be down the Snowy Mountains, staying at the Lodge, Adaminaby (as recommended by Al-58 - thanks Al). It's been a good snow/ski season, and it'll be nice to have a pic of Aussie snow in the calendar.
and dappers, the Sydney 50km Spring Cycle is on again in 5 weeks time. We you be joining the Rhodestars again this year? Do you still have the shirt or has it been turned into a TDM polishing rag by now?

I've started it already Si, last year we had a Photo of the year topic where people put up there pics and one of the other members produced us all a PDF calendar and those who downloaded it made a donation to the running of the forum.
Last year's photo topic - click here
The member who did it last year hasn't been on for a while until recently so I was going to contact him to see if he still wanted to do but in the meantime I've started one just in case.
I'm on hol now for a week but when I get back I'm happy to post a sample first month and maybe see what peeps think, what do you think?

Sorry dp - not wanting to seem ungrateful for your good work. I agree it's nice to get a pressie in the post, but the pdf route saves a load of hassle re. printing and distribution. Guess the loser(s) re. a pdf version would be anybody without a goodish colour printer.

Not at all Pict, PDF format was discussed previously as well as some of the online calendar creation services. The problem with .PDF was the cutting/binding/paper/print quality issues and the online calendar places didn't really give you much choice of format/design. I am not at all protective over this calendar, if the majority want PDF and someone is willing to take on the calendar project it would be suit me fine.

I think Baron's point was that the pdf calendar would be assembled and distributed electronically. Any printing would then be up to individuals.

Sorry - misunderstood your reference to cutting/binding etc., when there wouldn't be any if the beastie was distributed as a .pdf file.
