Had this problem on a Peugeot light cluster. Ended up bypassing the connector block by splicing into the wire on either side of the block. Not pretty but really secure and gets you going...

Yep do this, easiest way to get a proper connection

I found ACF50 prevented this problem, did all my connectors bi-annually, other products are available.

Heres an option perhaps to splice and bypass, i'll be using those inside my alternator cover where i dont want heat.

Many thanks for the tips along with the link.

Regarding that one wire, the same one corroded on mine, and on at least 2 others that I've heard of.

The Sumitomo pins (scroll down this page) might work. If not this vendor has a lot of other products... http://www.cycleterm...com/hx-060.html

No Steve, just lately on SWMBO's 308.
That little episode did teach me, however, to remove oil from engine with a vacuum pump...still do...never touch a sump plug again!!(on a car)..

Yup. The guy servicing stacker trucks where I worked used one on the aforementioned pug and showed me how clean the sump was after using the vac method. That sold it to me. Useful for brake bleeding too!!

We've got one at work and must admit to hardly using it for a complete oil change, never seems to get it all out.

I use a pela 6 litre suction pump on my boat as you can't get underneath, they have a factory fitted oil extractor pipe anyway for that use which gets right to the bottom, takes a while at 11 litres per engine.

Also superb for bleeding diesel systems after changing fuel filters too, and shifting bilge water from behind stringers.

It's a manual pump job but a very useful bit of kit.

That's normal....

Have you checked http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/to see if they have anything suitable? I've used them for other stuff lots of times and found them pretty good.
