Had the same thing a few years back. Told them I wanted out and why, they gave me a a golden hand shake (so I couldn't sue them for making me ill) and Wessex Home Services was set up and I haven't looked back. Every day is different and i'm me own boss.

Sorry to hear that Wicky. Nil Illigitimi Carborundum - don't let the b*stards grind you down.

Steve's got it right - a fine engineer's term!

Take a wee bit of your holiday and listen to Mole's story and the problems and look at the problem through her eyes. We're ALL on that fine balance between coping and insanity - doesn't take much to tip you over - sleep deprivation being an easy cause, somehow all the problems seem worse at 4 in the morning!!!

The job will still be the same when you get back Wicky, so the only thing that can change is how you approach it - it's a sad fact that the less conscientous workers are the ones who are less stressed cos they don't give a fuck.

As to the Tree Surgeon career change - why not go for it - you and the other 2 fellas will make a grand job of it........ dry.gif

Having been there myself about six months back I have been wanting to post a reply

a) to let you know its not your fault

and

b) to offer some support

However I have just read Dandy's post and to be honest there's nothing to add, I could not have put it better myself.

Well articulated Dandy.

Enjoy your break and try to forget about work. All the best.

Interesting collective here. I've heard the TDM described as "the bike for those who needn't prove anything to anybody", but since we've all got similar stories to tell (including me) about sensitivity, conscientiouness and depression, maybe it's "the bike for people who can face the facts and choose their lifestyle" or something like that?

If you haven't passed out from stress at least once in your life yer not really trying.

I think of the TDM as a bike that appeals to 'grown ups' - nothing to do with age. To be 'grown up' you have to have lived a bit which is possibly why so many of us can understand what wicky is going through.

Having said that it would be interesting to know what the average age of planet carpe was!
