Umm. Yes if I imagine, then it would look like this.
There's a problem with this though. Observed laser light is the energy that is disrupted by the dust/medium that the laser beam is passing thru.
You can generate a "pulse" or "train" of light particles of a certain length that would travel like this, but never this length and you wouldn't be able to record it moving through space like that.
This would be more like a column of plasma.
See. As "the laser pulse" moves away from the observer, then the observed light would have to travel back towards the observer too. It would nae work Cap'n.
I think this is a demonstration of a "what it would look like" imaginarium.

Here is the original Gizmag link. It explains a hell of a lot about how things were filmed. Gave me a headache.

It will be a very long time before we improve upon the tried and tested method of copper clad bit o' lead and lots of gunpowder behind it.
Major Eduard Rubin, a Swiss gentleman, invented the first copper clad conical bullet in 1882 and still used, except we tend to use boat tail spitzer shapes today for less drag.
Looks good, but what if a mirror or prism was in the way ? If it can reach out to 1000m and still be supersonic and accurate and cost below £4k for the whole setup, I'll have one. Otherwise I'll stick with the 6.5x55mm swedish.

Your just addicted to the bang Lee.
I like the bang, the smoke and the smell. Of course, hitting the target spot on is nice too. Pressing a switch will take all the fun away.
Doesn't always go well, so it's often back to the loading bench, to see why the latest recipe didn't quite go to plan.
