BSM and I made our monthly spin up to visit my 90 year old Mammy today, travelling from Hungerford, Berkshire to Rutland. The Mammy moved down from Aberdeenshire with my sister and her family a year ago so I thought she would like a new rose bush for the garden. I hadn't considered the logistics though, as in recent months, we've travelled by car. So... I uprooted said rose bush, neatly wrapped it in tesco carrier bags and squished it into one of my panniers. The plant pot fitted snugly behind BSM even though we got some funny looks. Not as funny as the look I gave the cashier who handed me a free air freshener when I topped up with fuel. It's now hanging from my mirror and competing with scent of dead badger and what smelled like a cake factory near Kettering.

We made it up in a couple of hours in gorgeous weather but the return journey took nearly 3 hours! We managed several detours due to road closures and generally getting stuck on the wrong roads due to weird contra flows, with the satnav complaining loudly all the way. We finally pulled in at home at 7.30 tonight with said rose bush duly delivered, one very happy Mammy and another 240 miles on our clocks. Great to see so many bikes on the roads today and to once again, have flies on our visors and big grins on our faces.

Which one's fastest ?

I've been called a dirty smelly biker, by a child's mother just for being on a bike, cos' I waved back to a child in a car at the pumps.

Maybe they think we all smell and need freshening up.

If I no what is good for me I'd have to say they are the same speed. Hopefully get my front forks sorted this Sunday then I can ride the old one a bit harder, the TDM that is.
There are those who type a lot, and then there are those who ride a lot.
