I have only just learned that EU rules require 'blind' quotes. I suppose it might have been a group of 'ex-pats' in Spain?

I'd like a new passport, :good:

I don't really care where it's made.   :P

I'd like to visit European countries without having to join a separate slow-moving queue  or having to walk in backwards with my trousers around my ankles. :punishment:

I'd like it to say........... member of the EU      :hide:

and then the fighting started........

... and so would most people under 45, whose futures depend on easy, free, trade with 500 million customers who wwant to buy stuff and services, on their doorstep. Sadly many of our generation (65-plus I guess) seem to have let 'em down

Let's hope we all see sense before the worst happens ... BUT don't worry we've got these lovely blue (French) passports

Agreed Pete,

Though Carpe isn't a political platform so best to keep it light hearted if poss.

Life for me is going to be a whole lot harder as a sizeable chunk of what we make is shipped directly into Europe, and we won this many years ago from 13 European-based operations. You can guess what is likely to happen to our hard won business and the staff's livelihoods that depend on it. Ironically the majority of my guys voted to leave but no one ever gave me a plausible explanation. Most would now vote to remain given a 2nd chance.

Mark my words, or I'll eat my helmet.

Brexit will not happen.....at least not the version of Brexit the most extreme xenophobes want. Which is why I stand by original statement, it doesn't matter how you vote , the outcome is predetermined.

Now it's just a matter of negotiating Brexit while remaining members of the customs union, the free trade area, a 'negotiable' immigration freedom wotnot.

Wouldn't surprise me if they create a heartstoppingly scary story about a Russian who gets poisoned and all the of the EU come out and support the UK so that ultimately it will only take a simple "You, see, we might not get this level of support if we are outside the EU. Better be scared of Russia on our own ;) "

...He said, rubbing jam on a Shoei helmet to make it more tasty.....

Oh god, not a Brexit thread.....

I know but....

In a couple of hours i'm driving my elderly parents into the centre of Leeds to go to a wedding, and I've just found out there's a Brexit protest march (in March, how funny)  with an expected 30000 protestors choking up the centre.

Leeds, the well known political powerhouse of the UK. Why not London ? , that's what it's there for !

I thought you guys were old enough to remember a time before UK became an EU (EEC) member... life wasn't really that much harder, was it ?  :)

:rotflmmfao:

That was in the days when we could get away with selling Austin Morris cars and Triumph-BSA motor cycles ....

... I think we need to be a bit more competitive in 2019

It's why we have been successfully working with companies like Nissan in Sunderland for the last 30 years!

Let's hope we get some business sense before March next year
