If you care to take the time, you'll find that discussions about other bikes is encouraged in the 'Hyde Park' section. One only needs to read the subtitle of the section mentioned to know this.

Not ridden the SMT, but have test ridden the 990SM. Fantastic bike, when you've got the throttle open.. an absolute heap of shit on a neutral throttle. FI system didn't know whether it was coming or going, so rolling along amidst town traffic was a nightmare.Sat on one of these today and was very impressed without riding it.

Sorry but thought ADMIN were the same a Teachers, Helping and supporting Members. If the Guy is lost then guide him to the proper section, not patronise and make him/her feel small. Things have changed here it seems

Just can't resist having a pop at admin can you, nothings changed there eh, Cats. Still, that's your opinion and you're entitled to it.
Admin same as teachers ! I dunno where you got that idea from.
Anyway, we all know what you really think of carpe admin, the insults are plastered all over Facebook. (Thanks for that !) Ironically, the insults are posted up in the 'Friends of Carpe-TDM' forum.

Got to agree with Cateeclan, they look like a fantastic all rounder but I'm scared to go for a test ride because then I'll have to buy one I'd imaging they cost a bit more to run than a TDM though, servicing's a bit trickier on them and you're never going to get near TDM fuel economy. On the other hand they go like stink.

Sounds like my 900 Monster was.
Didn't some of these KTM's have an oil weep from the head.

Oil weep you say? Hmmmm. Me Dads new 390 Duke had one of those. He has a 690 now & is much happier.
The closest I have ever come to replacing the TDM was an SMT. Love the whole concept but realised that the bikes potential far exceeds mine, wee tank, zero weather protection, aspiring sadist saddle, more maintenance. The bubble burst. Owners I spoke to raved but they were dressed in one piece leathers, either had very long or no hair, 1000 yard stares, and were at race meetings, competing.
The TDM is Nigella Lawson to the SMT,s Jennifer Lawrence. Just sayin. Opposite sides of the spectrum. I would love an SMT in a multi bike garage but as a unibiker the TDM is easier to live with.
TDM 850 Loud and unusual. CRM 250r Woo hoo! DT 230 Lanza Fiddled with.... Bloody hell, is that legal? GG Randonee AKA "I didn't think that was possible".
