I cannot track down the eleccy fuel pump mod that many of you have done, keep getting an error message saying "you don't have permission" and other such garbage, when I use the "search" (ha! theres a misnomer).

The 'view new posts' is considere a 'search', and you're only allowed 1 search every.....can't remember now.

Try wait a little and try searching again.

And, yea, I'm looking for the electric fuel pump mod too. For a 4TX (1996 MKII). Is it the R1 from the same year? Does the 'lectric fuel pump fix the 'hard to start after parking for some days' problem?

Thanks for that.

So, if I understand the thread correctly then, the following points should be right....

1 Use an R6 carb pump and not an injection one?

2 If using the above, no relay is needed, just a switched live for the pump power?

3 No overflow/overfeed pipe back to the tank is required (I only ask this cos my V Strom has a feed and return line to tank)

4 I need to reset the float heights lower by 2mm?

If peeps could answer those points I'd be grateful!

Mike

Nope!! Use an R1 pump, inlet & outlet pipe ID is the same so no splicing pipes o'different diameters
and no you don't want the FI one cos that mounts integral to the tank IIRC

2 If using the above, no relay is needed, just a switched live for the pump power?
I used a relay and had fuse in power feed to pump, cost pence, and took no more time really (can do you photos & more info on install, pm me)

3 No overflow/overfeed pipe back to the tank is required (I only ask this cos my V Strom has a feed and return line to tank)
No (guessing VStrom is FI?? Know bugger all about stroms)

4 I need to reset the float heights lower by 2mm?
Yup, I had to to take into account extra bit of kPa from da leccy pump

If peeps could answer those points I'd be grateful!
Be grateful rotflmmfao.gif

Done: Homo sap navigation/ twisty thing on bars to make it go vroom/ grabby thing to make it stop (in front of twisty thing)/ 'leccy things front and rear to make it glow at night/ Sucky + drippy oiler thing to keep chains moist (!!) / Laser Pro Stock Race pipes / bleeding ear drums (see previous mod)
To do: Educate homo sap nav system to operate twisty + grabby things/ get ear plugs
