Anyone interested Tomtop have go pro hero for $70 shipped on pre order. Apparently new units. Use code GPCM6 to get for $63.08 or 5wttoff to get 5% off. Not as good a deal with Sterling being in the toilet, but....

Also £50 on ebay - new.

I have a Hero 3+, it works quite well as a helmet camera. there is a thing about charge and record simultaneously, but I understand now that it's possible. Have had some issues with battery life on long trips.

The video quality is outstanding, though

Battery life is always a pain, my Drift HD dropped to less than an hours record time.

I've moved over to a Sony cam, around £150 and it will record close to 4 hours off a single charge.  I got a couple of spare batteries in case and hardly need to change them anyway.

Helmet cam power shortage? I have a usb powerbank wot I puts in my jacket pocket and a short cable to camera - simples.

Ya can take up to 20000mAh on aircraft too.

Note that this camera comes with everything fixed in the enclosure so no spare battery.
