I spotted this on the side of the road months ago in the southern highlands(NSW). Only took pics as these bikes came to Aus in very small numbers and this was the first I'd seen in the flesh. Was tempted to buy it but nowhere to put it and being realistic it would probably only gather dust anyway.

Doin valve clearances? Use dappers valve shim exchange program and the job will be carroty - Free (other than you postin me yer shims) for sporting members.

mental machines, i had it's sister boike, TZR250 which was sublime in the handling dept. TDR's are making alorra munny in de UK now.

spyball alarm/immob, bluespot brake calipers and Stainless hoses, Fournales air adjustable shock with Remote Resevoir, forks raised 10mm thru yokes, racetech linear fork springs in 15 wt oil, Kappa wingrack/luggage, heated grips, Kedo handguards, dual heat controller to power heated jacket liner and or pants!!, Stebel 136DB horn, K&N air filter, colour matched Baglux tank cover (magnetic tank bag modified to fit cover), osram +50% headloight bulbs, headlight protector,"NitramSpecial" parking loight, tail light indicators all running on LED's & incorporate "Lite Buddies", MK7 Scottoiler fitted, taller screen, 2-2 stainless steel CCC's, Devil stainless down pipes. MKI Renntec engine crash bars & sump guard.
engine changed july 2007 on a dyno run it made 79.1BHP / Torque 59.9Had a brief flirtation with a 1999 MKIIa but it blew an exaust valve on the M5 so was sold on to be repaired.

Hens teeth. I have lusted after one since I was a yoof. Would still part with the cash for a good un. Hilarious fun. Ning ning ning Gotta love 2 strokes.

Many years ago in France they raced a TDR 250 class in the Guidon d'or. IIR there where about 70 bikes on the start line, it was amazing viewing, carnage.

I love them, shame they never did the 250 with the round headlights the 125 had, they look like a mini Mk1

Had 2 125's myself was going to get a 3rd to keep the TDM warm at night but the economy riuned that idea.

Oooh that's nice.
Eons ago I used to ride GT 750 as a work hack & would dice daily with somebody on a TDR. I would just manage to overhaul him on the dual carriage way stretches but he would leave me for dead across & out of the roundabouts. Very quick & flicky. My first case of bike envy.

Wonder if my shortarse would reach the seat ? 2yrs ago and you cudda got a tattywan ferra grand, I think Sidey passed on a half decent black & yellow wan that went fer around £1200, but as Wicky says, they're getting really pricey recently.

Is it right they only do about 34mpg ?

ahh cher thas good enuf imho, when i was a des patcher on an old but clean LC250 i was spending anyting from £80-£100 a week on petrol an oil back in d'early 90's, although fuel is alot dearer now !! Trevini yer mates TDR is hawny.

ya Tone the 125 wan is a slimmer but better looking TDR imo. As ChrisG says above day shudda updated the 250 in a similar vein with a twin headlamp fairing etc......but they didn't i suppose cos 2strokes (ooooohhhh 9er reference..) were on the way out. Anudder wan to look out fer is the Cagiva Super City 125, gorgeous and a 7 speed gearbox !! reliable as the Jap stuff though.............doubt it.

Gilera Nordwest's where a hoot too. My second case of bike envy... A guy would run rings round me on my Aprilia Pegaso with his Nordwest.

550 single iirc, i remember the saddle ran all the way up the fuel tank.

One came past us on tour. The wee man could not resist and we caught em up and passed but the TDR kept up well. Couldn't believe it when Eccles said t'were a 250!!

Yup, one of the first motard style production bikes. The guy up in Aberdeen who used to embarrass me was usually on one wheel when I saw him. A far more enthusiastic rider than myself.
