looks like i'll be heading westsouthwest on the M62 for a long time
upto Walkden
then more northwest passing Blackrod, Chorley, Preston, Lancaster
then onto the A590 at the crossing just west of Nook
then A591 at Sedgwick
finally leaving the A591 at crossing in Ings, heading for the campsite

this will all be done friday

Why not take the M62 then pick up the A660/A65 north west of Leeds, then go up via Ilkley- Skipton- Settle-Kirby Lonsdale - Across the M6 towards Kendall A591 then turn right at Windermere straight up the A592 Kirkston Pass to the camp site. A much nicer/scenic ride and more direct.

thats an option bondy. it will depend on the weather when setting of at Hull
bad weather : fastest route
nice weather : shortest route

satnav gives shortest route 4hours but only 60km shorter then the fastest route which is only 3hours.

I'd say the M62 and M6 will be the longest route whatever. Traffic that way can be a bloody nightmare, especially on a Friday. I'd go for the scenic A65 it'll probably be the fastest and nicest route.
What say the guys from up that way?
