I'm currently a Honda Crosstourer owner but finding the CT a bit too heavy, so I'm looking at an 2008 TDM to run as a second bike with the CT getting sold during the summer. I'm a bit of a Luddite, and like the Yam because it's like the CT in that there's very little gadgetry to worry about. I think we'll get on well together as I age! I'm looking forward to spending time on here to improve my knowledge of my new acquisition.
2008 TDM900 in beautiful black. Fender extender, after market Bullster touring screen, radiator guard, RM-G crash bars, 12V/USB socket, Oxford heated grips, Bagster tank cover, centre stand, E22 Givi panniers, standard exhausts. Beautiful Acerbis hand guards. <p>2015 Honda Crosstourer Highlander dct. Fabulous bike, but getting heavier as I age. The 9er is its replacement, eventually.

Well, thanks, guys. No, I'm not related to anyone on here, as far as I know, but I did find an entry yesterday about another TDM guy helping his brother who is a CT owner. I tried making a comment but I think it failed to register for some reason.
As far as I can see, there's little to worry about on the TDM900. Anyone got any comments on what to look out for on a first viewing?

Welcome!!
Things to look out for are make sure the swinging arm isn't seized, if it's abs, make sure it's working ok - brakes are pretty good especially at the fronts, chain should be set to between 50mm and 60mm which could indicate how well it's been looked after. If has been looked after there's not much to worry about.
How many miles has it done? TDMs are good for round the clock if looked after though.
Everything as you would with another bike, write off (afefcts value) everything is straight, brake calipers clean enough for age, tyres, etc.
