Done !

No.1 carb was fine, no.2 carb needed adjusting as it was very low. Checked for any fuel leakage/overflow, even tilted carbs for an hour and no leaks to be found. :)

Also worth checking the vacuum pipes that connect to the inlet stubs for any cracks/missing bungs etc and make sure the inlets are bolted to the engine nice and secure. :)

As instructed carb rubbers checked and all in order. Vacuum pipes checked also fine. While I was at it I took the fuel pump apart and gave it a general clean (That plastic diaphlemb thingy looks a bit basic) and put it all back together. The carbs arrived back from Sir studdly safe and well. Put the bike back together noting you have to be carefull when tightening up the carb rubber clamps as one moved and got caught up in the Throttle mechanism causing a slight bind. Took battery off charge and all reconnected. I expected it may take some time to fire up but on the third attempt she was running. Massive cloud of crappy, oily, smelly fumes filled the shed and then after a few minutes she calmed down. She's now running sweeter than ever. I cant believe the difference. I will take her for a run tomorrow if possible but as she stands I know its all going to be good. No leaky and no nasty sounds. Studders you deserve a knighthood :clapping:

All she needed was some loving attention from Sir Studley's magical fingers. After all that frustration I just cant get enough of this bike.

Hi dannyboy!

Very beautiful your motorcycle.
You are on honeymoon, after taking the carbs to the hospital.
I ask: do you still want to sell it and buy a Honda 90?

No need to answer. Make good trips, walk a lot and be happy!

Cheers!

I've still got my Mk1 looking sad in the back of the garage if you fancy another one Dablik :D  I really do need to get round to cleaning her up and putting her on e-bay.  I know what you mean about the B-road grin factor, the 900's way better on a more open road but you can't beat the Mk1 for gnarly stuff.
