What say you?

I got Skidmarx to make the screen a while back. I'm concerned that, at speed, it is a lot of force on the front fairing and something might break. When riding at motorway speeds the fairing does flex a little. Nice and quiet behind it though! Which is especially welcome as I have developed ringing in my ears that is made much worse with motorbike wind noise.

Have you seen a Tiger screen

Haven't taken the nose cone off recently, but there may be room for supports out of sight.

I've seen people with bars across the highest mounting points, but not sure if that helps?

Singapore Bikers 9ers tried big screens and had fairing failures. Can't find a link at mo.
Go slow for less strain but then you won't need a big screen. :(

I'm not fussed about wipers - my main priority is to mount a rear view mirror with some furry dice and an air freshener.

Ear plugs don't work on me, even had custom made ones, they all make it worse. The least worst ones IMO are the thick 3M plugs.

About to embark on a 1000 mile trip and it's a toss up between hearing damage (to add to what I already have) and potential broken fairing...

It's exactly like a Tiger screen, if big screens are your thing a Madstad comes supplied with a metal infill plate and brackets to which the screen then fits, much sturdier imo...........i also happen to have one for sale  :D

Apart from the std screen the madstrad appears to give the least amount of flex/vibration than any other set up I used,

its rock solid, its a great design, and Ive tried lots

I bolted the MRA xcreen onto the Yam touring screen good protection, but at high speeds/ wind you could see the vibration starting,

back to the std xcreen now

It looks like a solid job. Is the screen heavy on its own. Looks like 5 or 6 mil plastic .u could always shave it an inch from the top for peace of mind but that would probably defeat the purpose, or slow down

it started life as a tiger screen, but that got broken (not whilst riding), so I sent the bits to Skidmarx for them to replicate as best they could and also make it slightly higher.

Well, I did around 800 miles over the weekend with a self imposed speed limit and it was fine. It served much more pleasant riding. It'll be coming off though, as I don't think it likes high speeds and I am aware of it when riding.

All this chasing wind noise protection - I think the choice needs to be all or nothing: naked bike or Goldwing. Chasing the middle ground probably isn't worth the effort.
