Been offered a clean set of blue spot ex R1 callipers for £75.  Are they plug n play for a 99 850?  I'm guessing they're a bit lighter and more efficient than OE's in situ.....

Anyone ditched the OE master cylinder, and if so what with?  I'm guessing that with some fresh lines, pads, and aforementioned blue spots the original MC would be fine.

Cheers Chaps.

Also true

I installed an R6 master, you really just need a master with the proper diameter to have a good action. Too wide, and it gets wooden. Too thin and it gets spongy with too much travel.

A noticeable improvement of front your front brakes it is !

I'd be interested to hear what you think the differences were between a well maintained original calipers to blue spots. I've debated about getting one for over a year but since i'm happy with my brakes (3vd) when they've been serviced regularly, i'm yet to be convinced to shell out. Now if I come across a really cheap set in good nick then thats a different story.

To my experience - the blue spots give a bit more braking force for a given amount of applied lever force. Not dramatically, but noticeable.

I went for the blue spots after having a master cylinder failure (and, from forum reading testemonials, believed blue spots would be a total revolution).

I run a stock MC combined with blue spots, and SS braided hoses.
Noticeable improvement, but not like night and day. Good enough for me though.
Swapped the calipers because the original ones were sticking.
